Small Business SEO Tips - All About Link Placement

As we all know a big part of SEO is getting links that point to your
business website. Did you also know where those links are on a page or
site also is a factor in their effectiveness.

When it comes to SEO for your business website you will have noticed
that the work that is being carried out to your website is usually
split into two parts. First we have the on page optimisation where
your site would be checked over to make sure it is coded correctly and
the pages work and that the text on the page is relevant and so on.
Secondly you have the off page work. This is where the aim is to get
other websites to point to yours by linking to you. On a basic level
the more links that you have pointing to your site the more authority
your domain gets.

However it is not as simple as getting thousands of links to your
small business website. The trust level of the domain linking to you
is important, and which pages you are being linked from is also
important. Did you know though that where the link is placed on a web
page is also important and will affect how much authority is passed
on?

There are a few places you can place a link to someones website from
your own page. The most common would be in the sidebar of the page.
This is often where you will find the blogroll, or links of a website
and is the most common place to link out to websites you are friends
with or that you recommend to your users. Links contained within the
sidebar are a great place to have a link and pass on a decent amount
of link authority to the domain being linked to.

Another common place you will find people placing inks is in the
footer of a web page. A lot of sites will place slightly less relevant
links in the footer, or links that are part of a link exchange
program. Sadly a lot of small business seo websites think they need to have reciprocal URLs to
get people linking to their website and they end up with a messy
footer on the bottom of the page with link exchanges they have made or
directories they signed up to, usually with half the sites now broken
an unchecked. Search engines know that the footer is a place out of
sight and out of mind for most website owners and readers therefore
links in the footer pass very little authority to the domain being
linked to. That is not to say if you if have a well maintained website
with very few outgoing links that the link authority is worthless, but
the links would be best coming from the sidebar or the content itself.

The other main place you will find links being placed on websites is
within articles and blog posts themselves. These are links within the
actual text of the document rather than the resource box or on the
side of the page. Search engines view these links with the most
authority. This is because the links are in context. Not only to the
context of the page but also within the context of sentences and words
they are surrounded by. If a site is being linked to within a body of
text it must be very relevant to the topic being discussed. It is also
harder to spam websites with in article links as you need the owner to
approve the articles and links which is harder on a large scale than
getting them to simply place a link at the bottom or side of a page.

These are a couple of the main places you will find links and should
help you next time you want to get a link back from a website.

If you are looking to get some cheap or professional small business seo whether
professionally or by doing some yourself you should now have a better
idea of what kind of links to go after and what to expect from your
SEO packages.

The Christmas Rush Starts Already with stinky the garbage truck and Kung Zhu

Its amazing to think that in September we are already thinking about
what to get for christmas but apparently the toy companies start
early. The top seller for this year is apparently a toy called stinky the garbage truck which can be found on the website I just linked to. He is a
fun loving happy toy from matchbox cars who make the big rig buddies
and he is their newest addition. A talking singing burping dumping
garbage truck. I know thats what I would've loved as a kid, maybe it
has been inspired by the garbage truck from toy story 3. The other top
toy I have noticed this year has been the zhu zhu pets - again linked to
here, but they have a new addition to their toy line too with kung zhu which is
aimed at the boy with ninja special forces toys, get zhu zhu pets has
all the latest zhu zhu pet toys if you remember from last year, just
click through to their website to have a look at the great new toys.

If you have any ideas what is going to be big then let us know in the
comments it would be great to hear from you.

The Damage a Fox Could be Doing to Your Property

Foxes may be cute and cuddley and a part of the UK's natural wildlife
backdrop but having them on your property can lead to health issues
and cause damage to your property. Here are a few ways in which foxes
could be damanging your propety.

Having a fox in your garden can play havoc the fox or foxes can damage
your lawns. The foxes are drawn to gardens and lawns because of the
invertebrate turf pests which live on grassy patches. Foxes can also
dig for food and may end up digging up flower patches vegetable
patches or may even bury things themselves in your garden or flower
beds.

With Foxes there is a slight risk of disease

It is important to remember to keep the level of threat of foxes in
perspective but it is always important to keep an eye on potential
hazards or issues that may be present based on living near foxes.

A Fox can carry a number of parasites as well as diseases which may
effect the health of common pets and people.

Since foxes are also a member of the canine family foxes can often
carry contagious diseases which could affect the health of pet dogs.

Toxocariasis is the most common disease that foxes could carry which
might in turn be trasmitted to a human. Toxocariasis is caused by a
parasitic roundworm found in in the fox called toxocara canis.
Microscopic eggs are present in the faeces of any infected animals
like the fox. These eggs have thick sticky shells which means that
they can remain infective in the soil for two to four years after the
faeces have disappeared. The sticky shell helps eggs to adhere to
fingers or clothing. The way in which humans can become infected would
be by accidentally swallowing the infective Toxocara eggs. Babies and
toddlers are most at risk because of this because they put dirty
things in their mouth as well as toys and fingers and might pick up
eggs which have been in the soil. Records show that around 100 new
cases of Toxocariasis are diagnosed each year. Once swallowed Toxocara
eggs release larvae into the intestine. The larvae travel through the
body until they die which could take several years.

The symptoms of toxocariasis are often unpleasant and can be difficult
to treat and get rid of. The symptoms can include stomach upset and
pain headache sore throat wheezing and listlessness. In some rare
cases the larvae reach the eyes which can in turn cause sight problems
and in some cases blindness. It is important to clean up after
domestic cats and dogs as they are are prone to a form of this
disease.

If you notice fox faeces you should clean it up using a poop scoop and
bag as soon as possible and deposit it in a safe and secure bin. This
is so as not to allow sufficient time for any roundworm eggs to
incubate.

Another risk is weil's disease also known as Leptospirosis.

Foxes are also susceptible to Weil's disease. This can be a
potentially life threatening condition and can also be passed on to
pets and humans via contact with their urine. Fleas and ticks are
carried by most foxes.

Rabies Can also be a risk. Thankfully Britain is currently rabies-free
but if you are in a country where rabies occurs foxes can contract
this and could pass on the disease.

If you have a fox in your garden where you keep small pets like
rabbits, birds and guinea pigs and even kittens it is important to
remember that foxes will hunt and kill these animals given a chance
and you should make sure all animals are indoors or secure with
electric fencing, or metal wire rather than chicken wire which does
not work as well. Foxes will kill more than they need to eat and may
come back days later for the uneaten corpses

Foxes may also overturn bins or rip open plastic rubbish bags causing
them to spill the contents Other issues for foxes include, Foxes
spraying their scent and foxes stealing food from bird tables.

Foxes also make nocturnal screams and barking which can cause a lot of
disturbance. These fox sounds can at times be very loud and distressing
and are often described as having an 'unearthly' timbre.

If you have a problem with foxes on your property and you need fox control or in
other areas such as fox removal london
you should call in an expert to help you with your fox issues.
